Drug discovery and development seminar by Stanislaw Pikul at Nencki

The Nencki Institute kindly invites you to a seminar “Drug discovery and development - opportunities for collaboration between companies and research institutes in Poland and worldwide”. The seminar will be given by Stanisław Pikul, PhD and will take place on April 25th at 10 a.m., at the Nencki Institute, hall 2. Establishing start-up companies in Life Science sector

The Nencki Institute cordially invites you to a series of workshops dedicated to the establishment and development of companies in the broad areas of biomedicine and biotechnology. Workshops are targeted specifically for scientists and PhD students who lead or are establishing their own business, or for those who are considering such a possibility in the future. Workshops will be held by Roland Kozlowski, PhD and will take place on April 18th and 19th at 10 a.m., at the Nencki Institute, hall 2. The number of seats in the lecture hall is limited, therefore we ask you to confirm your attendance by an e-mail to m.borkowska@nencki.gov.pl.

Dr Roland Kozlowski
Roland Kozlowski received a first class honours degree from the University of Bath and a PhD from the University of Cambridge. Roland Kozlowski is a bioentrepreneur who has worked in the industry for approaching two decades. Roland has held a number of operational roles including most recently Chief Executive Officer and a founder of Lectus Therapeutics Limited (investor exit via asset sale to UCB in Q4, 2011), Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Sense Proteomic Limited (trade sale to Procognia Limited in Q1, 2003). In the mid 1990s Roland worked with Oxford Molecular PLC on their cornerstone deal he negotiated with Yamanouchi Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. During his career Roland has gained considerable transactional experience ranging from company sale, purchase, financing and in- and out-licensing and commercialisation of technology. In the past Roland ran a Research Groups at the University of Oxford and University of Bristol where subsequently he was a Visiting Industrial Professor. He has published and patented in the field of ion channel physiology and pharmacology. Roland has served on the boards of a number of companies including the Bio Industry Association in the UK. He remains a non-executive director of Lectus Therapeutics Limited, is a non-executive director of London Genetics Limited which operates in the personalised medicine space and owner of Life Science Biznes Consulting (LSBC) Sp. z o. o. a Central European Strategic Advisory Firm.

"Patenting and searching patent databases workshops" at the Nencki Institute

Nencki Insitute is organizing workshops on patenting with help of European Patent Office.
On 9th and 10th October the Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology will host dr Nigel Clarke from European Patent Office, that will teach our scientist basics on intellectual property rights and patenting as well as how to search patent databases.
